Designation Linux Engineering
Job Description You will be required to drive testing ( QA of OEL/Oracle VM Releases ) and development of test tools/cases to verify the stability of the operating system with/without Oracle to simulate potential issues in the various operating system subsystems. This would require you to understand the technology, how it is used , its behaviour under load and then develop suitable tools to regress/uncover potential problems with various operating system components. The tools developed will be open source and hence requires interaction with the open source community. One would also be involved in testing and working with partners in evaluating/validating various hardware configurations suitable for deployments or usage by customers.
Desired Profile • Expertise in bash, Perl, and/or python
• Advanced/expert fluency with C
• Experience with Linux and virtualization test tools
• Experience in testing ( stress, performance ) the linux operating system and Oracle VM/virtualization products.
• Experience working with UNIX kernels.
• Operational knowledge of Enterprise Linux distributions is expected (e.g. RHEL4, SLES9, CentOS)
• Experience in working with large database application at a systemic level.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Desire to work with a team in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred Qualifications: BE/MS/MCA degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1-10 years of software engineering or related experience
