User Interface Developer
Job Description
Primary responsibilities:
• Liaising closely with a User Experience Designer(s) at the design stage to understand the feasibility of the proposed design solutions.
• Producing a click through mockup / prototype that has a logical navigation system and has all the features / interactions that are required to closely match the design composites or wireframes.
• Working closely with the Engineering teams during implementation phase.
• Working on toolkit libraries (like Yahoo, GWT, Ext-JS, etc.).
• Deciding on how the code and assets (scripts, images, etc.) and other resources will be digitally optimized and presented for the web and other environments.
• Testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions.
• Debugging and fixing errors (code, script, etc.) and page alignment issues.
• Ensuring that material on the web application is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities (accessibility and 508 compliance).
Qualifications required:
• Minimum of 4 years experience working on user interface development efforts in a software development environment. Good development and coding skills are mandatory.
• Must understand all phases of the software development process including planning and scheduling tasks. Experience developing complex web-based applications is a plus.
• Experience developing web pages in a combination of codes, such as HTML and XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Action script, JSP, ASP, etc.
• Ability to work well with User Experience Design, Engineering, Product Management and Marketing to validate product design requirements and to convert requirements into usable product prototypes.
• Demonstrated expertise with products such as: Visual Studio, Dreamweaver and other professional development tools is a requirement.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be passionate about creating usable click through prototypes.
• Must be a self-starter who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Profile Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
