Designation Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
PROJECT SUMMARY AND POSITION OVERVIEW:
1. General knowledge of Application Objects Library (AOL), the applications module providing core infrastructure features such as flexfields, value sets, concurrent programs, application responsibilities (access types), and user access.
2. Overall responsibility of the Oracle Accounts Receivable module and support.
3. Supporting standard AR interfaces with Project Accounting and Other Legacy Systems
4. Support end user issues using standard processes and tools.
5. Design, implement, test, and debug software according to schedules
6. Troubleshoot problems and implement appropriate solutions to problems
7. Follow recommended software development methodology standards
8. Perform other related duties as assigned by management
9. Pro-active customer service attitude
10. Document known solutions to address issues.
11. Participate in periodic (daily or weekly) review meetings with the Technical Program Manager and/or the Senior Software Architect and/or the global development group to discuss project status, system design and/or product requirements.
12. Day to day interaction with project champions and other stakeholders, including product manager, quality assurance, technical support, software developers and globally-based program management and software development groups.
13. Occasionally support and maintain production programs and data feeds outside normal business hours
14. Occasionally travel (domestic and internationally) to other Thomson facilities on project business.
ESSENTIAL DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collecting, understanding, and transmitting the business requirements for the project, and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans.
• Analyse and document business processes.
• Document workflows and results of business analysis and obtain sign-off from client on the specifications.
• To provide the link between the customer, development team and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the development lifecycle.
• To design and execute the test scenarios and test scripts.

Desired Profile
EDUCATION:
• 3-5 Years of hands on Oracle Accounts Receivable support
• Qualified BE or MCA from reputed institutes
• Excellent functional Accounts Receivable knowledge
REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. 3-4 years experience in Oracle Financials Modules(Accounts Receivable and Oracle Discoverer) with strong Technical Skills
2. Integrating Oracle Accounts Receivables with Oracle Project Accounting & Oracle General Ledger.
3. Domain knowledge of various invoice/revenue models.
4. Well versed with Oracle Project Accounting extensions and their usage.
5. Well versed with Oracle Receivables and Cash applications.
6. Must have worked on support related projects and with off shore model.
7. Excellent end user communication skills
8. Perform application enhancements and extensions
9. Patch release management
10. Analysis report for production related Issues
11. Documentation of application level changes
12. Batch production control and scheduling for routine batch jobs
13. Support of the report and queries pre-configured in the application
14. Data management including directed cleanup and data changes
15. Strong Oracle AR Skills
DESIRED SKILLS:
1. Financial data domain knowledge
2. Knowledge of Oracle DBMS and PL/SQL programming.
3. Strong Skills in Oracle GL, PA
4. Knowledge on Java Technologies
